I like good news. As such, I’d like to pass along some more crimes stats for PSA 307 that show some improvement over the last two years. As they were last month, these stats were compiled and posted originally on the Borderstan blog. Go there for the complete set of numbers.
For January, total crime was down 33 percent from last year and 42 percent from 2007. Violent crime was down 29 percent from last year and property crimes saw a 32 percent decrease. I’ve got to say, fleshing out the numbers like this does give me a pretty optimistic feeling.
I post this good news not as some type of grand conclusion on the state of District crime, but just to add some quantitivity to the ever-present discussion.
