So PHEW! The hassle and stress of moving has sure slowed the flow of posting here, hasn’t it? But never fear people, because Katie and I are now mostly settled into the new digs and ready to commence with the vital D.C. commentary.
And the commentary for today is this: From our new abode in a second Logan Circle location, I can say with a renewed certainty that this neighborhood is way sweet. Now this statement is clearly pretty obvious, but I think that relocating to a different intersection, even in the same neighborhood, has given me a fresh outlook on the place. A new set of eyes, if you will.
And so one location-related item I want to talk about is the Studio Theatre’s neighborhood discount for their openings. Do people know about this? Basically if you live within six blocks or so of the Theatre (yes it’s “re”, and no, I don’t like it one bit), you can get a $10 ticket on four select days throughout the year. From their site:
Studio District Night: November 12, January 14, May 24 and June 27. Ticket Price: $10 for patrons who live or work in the Studio District, with proof of address. What is the Studio District? The area between 11th and 17th Streets NW, and from N ST NW to Florida Ave NW.
Pretty sweet, right? So hit it up come January, especially if, like me, you’ve recently lost the ability to get Wolly Mammoth’s sweet under-25 discount.
By the way, I realize that maybe this info would have been more appropriately posted in time for the November 10th showing, or closer to the January date. But I can’t be held down by such logical rules and guidelines; I’m my own man! Also, I’m very disorganized.
Anyway, see you around the neighborhood!
