This Sunday marks my favorite festival in D.C., Crafty Bastards. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Marie Reed Learning Center on 18th Street will transform into a crafty paradise. Think weird felted monsters, handmade cigar-box guitars, a sweet breakdance competition, “The Office”-themed purses, badass jewelry, and, in Noah’s words, “more knitting than your grandma’s high school reunion.” The purple wing-shaped acrylic earrings I picked up last year are still among my favorites. Peruse the vendor gallery for inspiration.
So bring lots of cash (those crafty types aren’t always so good with their arcane credit card readers) and buy some awesome handmade goods from local artists. I’ll see you there! Probably geeking out by the handbags, looking for inspiration to kick-start my own neglected sewing hobby.

I’m totally going. Give me a ring and let’s meet up while there. Also, totally just added you kids to my personal blogroll. :)
