Seriously, where is it? Way back in Februrary, I read that a so-called Beer Paradise was set to open just blocks from our apartment in the building currently housing the Dakota Cowgirl restaurant and the, um, unsubtly-named Ramrod. This magical place was supposed to have 500 kinds of beer, rivaling DC lager landmark the Brickskeller and newcomer RFD. However, the claimed April opening date has clearly come and gone, and I’m still walking eight whole blocks or (gasp!) taking Metro when I need to choose from hundreds of beers. What gives?
Well, it looks like the revised opening is set for “ETA October”. The place will apparently have a bar upstairs and a dining room on the ground floor, presumably to put a good public face on the inevitable dereliction within.
All I can say is, this had better be accurate. Dangling the prospect of 500 beers in our faces, only to snatch it away again, would be seriously NOT COOL.
Where the hell’s my beer paradise?
